If you are anything like me you have been looking for the diets that work and really help you lose weight for what seems to be forever. The sad truth is that the longer you have been dieting and the older you get, the harder it becomes to lose weight and actually keep it off.

That is right, the odds are against you if you have been yo-yo-ing for years, simply because you have been messing up your metabolism and functioning of your body and probably been gathering more fat cells than you realize.

My personal story is one that is very similar to many of the people wanting to lose weight. I was pretty normal as a child, very active and just a little chubby, but nothing to worry about. It wasn´t until I actually started to worry about my weight that I also started having weight problems.

I started my first diet at age 16 and talking of diets that work, boy did I lose weight fast, almost 14 lbs in one week! I was on top of the world, not realizing back then that that would actually mean the beginning of all my problems.

See, rapid weight loss in 95% of all cases promotes rapid weight gain further down the line because you tend to lose muscle tissue rather than fat cells when you are on a speed or fast diet, plus you are totally messing up your metabolism, slowing it down even further.

The moment you stop dieting, you will gain back the weight you just lost and then some.
